My Dear Hubby's Family

Scrapbooking I found out recently that my dear hubby's side of the family is distantly related to Pocahontas! I actually proved it! Boy is his family excited at now they can say all those 'skeletons' in the closet don't count b/c they are related to a true legend in this country-Pocahontas. Raise The Roof They are the only people related to her, BUT they are part of the picture. Is that not a neat thought! Writing Somewhere in our life, we are related to someone that is a legend to our family. Maybe not to everyone but to our family they are a legend. I feel this is true about my father, WWII Navy Navy Gunner's Mate of PT Torpedo Boats, Flag 2 fought beside John F. Kennedy, Sailor volunteered to go on the boat that rescued him of the famous 'islandTropical Island after the coconut message. He survived that War to come back, marry my mother Bride & Groom , brought me into being. He is a legend, a wonderful man, who in his own rights is famous for his association with men like John F. Kennedy. Then my brother, who I looked up to, 10 years my senior. He died so this country could be free, not on a battle field, but died alone in a foreign country, fighting for our freedom and the freedom of all people of the world. He is buried in Arlington Cemetery, honored for his service to this country, his name on the State Department Wall the remembers it fallen workers. An unnamed star somewhere to honor his service. Genealogy, tells the truth of all our families, the truth of the heroism our each family has in its history. Mine is no different than other person's family history. We only learn our family's genealogy by searching out who and what they are. I hope all who find my blog spot will search deeply into their Roots. Roots that tell who you are, why you are who you are. Is not life wonderful. Your Roots can make you proud, by learning all you can about your family. Your Roots can lead to meet new cousins, Aunts, Uncles, etc. Is not that fun? Through your learning who you are by finding out about your family, your world is unlimited by the knowledge you gain. Sorta' like learning new knowledge in school by the classes you took. Wish I was still in school. I love learning about new things I can do. Think about your family, your history, the legends in your family. History makes us who we are. Hope you learn more each day. God's Blessings, Jil
